Lake Braddock High School senior Sophie Chase finished 14th across the pond over in Scotland today in the Great Edinburgh International Cross Country Challenge junior women's 4K race with a time of 14:42. She was the third American finisher among 6 teammates for the US junior women's squad and 12th among a total of 44 runners in the field It was her first time competing internationally, but likely will not be her last. The two-time Foot Locker All-American Chase now turns her track back fully to the track after recently getting the college decision out of the way as she verbally committed to Stanford University last month. She will be the Group AAA state indoor title favorite in the 1600 and 3200, while she leads the state's fastest 4x800 meter relay at Lake Braddock.
